Taluswood 27 - an Interesting Rental Home in Whistler

Travellers searching for accommodation in Whistler have a wealth of options open to them. North America’s leading resort town has over 2000 rental properties in its inventory. But only a few of these properties are as special as Taluswood 27, a ski-in, ski-out townhome nestled in the woods and directly adjacent to the ski-in run that comes off the famous Dave Murray Downhill, venue for the 2010 Olympic Downhill event.

Taluswood 27 is a delightful 3-bed, 3-bath townhome featuring a reassuringly chunky peeled log interior, lots of hand-built solid wooden doors, a massive wood-burning fireplace, a gourmet kitchen (the owner is a restaurant owner from Maui) and a private hot tub. It also has the charming feature of a gas log fire in the bedroom, so that you can snuggle up to your partner with the flicker flames from the grate to put you into a romantic mood. To set out skiing for the day, you walk out of the Taluswood complex, cross the road, put your skis on and ski down to the last few hundred yards of the Dave Murray run, at the bottom of which is situated the Creekside Gondola, the cognoscenti’s preferred way of getting up the mountain in Whistler. When you want to come back at the end of the day, you simply take the Taluswood ski-in trail all the way to the bottom, and you can ski right into the hot tub if you are not careful.

Are there any disadvantages to this accommodation? Well it is a little way up the hill, and the street (Nordic Drive) is not served by public transport, so you will need a car or a cab to go shopping, or to sample one of Whistler’s legendary restaurants, but otherwise it might be an excellent location for a Whistler holiday.

Henry Schlee is the owner of Holiday Whistler and offers over 50 different Whistler accommodation options. You can also talk to him about any aspect of Whistler property management.
