The revamping of air travel and hospitality was triggered by Nicholas Bredimus, who combined them with the software world to produce something new. He has done everything from creating computer programs that automate resource and time intensive processes to improving aircraft safety and designing high-value homes. And whatever his focus settles on, you can bet he will give his full passion to it.
His family history can reveal all you might want to know regarding his talents and the amount he has done. Coming together from a true melting pot, his clan traces to the time of ancient Rome, with his mother’s branch originating out of Scotland and Germany. An equivalently wide mingling dominates his father’s branch — previous to emigrating near the end of the nineteenth century, Bredimus’ ancestors made their homes in England and Luxembourg.
That remarkable drive kept them pushing on following their arrival in America. Nicholas, who would grow up with his sisters and brothers, was born to a father who earned his living as a mechanical design engineer and his wife, a nurse. He settled for a time in Kansas City, Texas, Arizona and a place named Reston in Virginia.
Nicholas has worked in respected roles with companies across the airline sector — many of them big names. Nicholas ascended to the position of VP with firms like Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines, and Trans World Airlines (TWA) respectively. Most notable, though, is his effort as a gifted software designer for the airline industry. He is famed for a project for US Airways, namely his airplane maintenance management computer programs that are now used by the majority of air services. He would go on to examine recording and taking reservations. For both room and flight bookings he produced software systems to handle much of the work that had been involved until that point. He also produced a piece of software trademarked as QuikTix, the world’s first automatic ticketing network.
No matter the fact that it was eminently his strong suit, he also often worked on other areas. With his own firm — Bredimus Systems — overseeing IT for American Express, and as the first president of an American Airlines division his career speaks for itself.
Is he still active? Decidedly so — his smarts are in demand and at the ready no matter his retirement. His focus has turned to the architectural concerns tied to the creation of hitech upmarket homes. Which is just further proof of what an untiring energy can actually accomplish!
